This is a good question and I don't have an easy answer. For myself, my feed has been built up slowly over the course of 5+ years, and mush of it is stuff I was following on social media beforehand anyway. Nowadays a lot of what I've discovered is actually linked to in other publications, and I also have a Mastodon account where I see good links all the time. For local content you could probably just use google or maybe even explore Instagram hash tags!
