I've been using "Unhook" instead of DF YouTube. As far as I can tell from the screenshots it's more customisable, more widely used, and even works with Firefox for Android.

Great post, very helpful. I've been using uBlock Origin (and Ghostery), just added Clear URL to my Firefox browser. What's been turning me off is Youtube trying to get me to disable uBlock, but there's a workaround for now: Enable uBlock in private windows and always open Youtube in private mode.

Another great post Justin - bravo! I had never heard of Leechblock and it sounds brilliant... I can’t wait to start using it

If you’re already in the Apple ecosystem, what do you think of Safari v Firefox? I’ve been using chrome on my laptop forever, but it seems time to switch.

When in doubt I almost always recommend going with the open source option (in this case Firefox) to ensure the interests align with users, and not corporations That said, Safari is still a step up simply for being not-Chrome (Edge and Opera are basically different-colored Chrome).

Wow the exceptions bit is great, I just tested it now. I should make a whole post about Leechblock one day but I still feel like I'm learning new things with it.

And yes I have heard of that modified Instagram app! I think I mentioned it in a premium bonus newsletter once. I personally only check in a browser with "/?variant=following" to get ad-free and chronological order.
